Man steals four cans of nuts from CVS

A man stole four cans of nuts from the CVS at The Shops at 2000 Penn Monday, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.

The report states the person entered the store at 2:50 p.m., put four cans of nuts in his backpack and exited the store without paying. The suspect stole $40 worth of nuts with a forfeiture value of $20, according to the report.

MPD spokesperson Hugh Carew declined to identify the suspect. Carew said no arrests have been made as the investigation into the case continues.

The report states Sabrina Kiara Winston reported the crime at 4:46 p.m., and MPD officer Brahim Nas responded to the scene. The case is still open, and the suspect is charged with second-degree theft, the report states.
