Senior forward Yoni Berhanu was named the A-10’s co-Player of the Week for men’s soccer Monday, sharing the honor with Charlotte’s Evan James.
Berhanu earned five points in GW’s two matches at the Jacksonville Tournament over the weekend, leading the Colonials.
He netted a goal off a penalty kick against both Jacksonville and Stetson, adding an assist against Stetson to bring his season total to four goals and nine points. Berhanu, who was named the 2008 A-10 Rookie of the Year, ranks in the top four in the A-10 in both goals and points.
The Colonials will complete their non-conference play against Wofford Oct. 1, with play scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
