Copa Style Magazine Fashion Show
New York Fashion Week may be a month away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get an inside look at spring fashion trends. Copa Style Magazine is hosting a fashion show celebrating the publication’s eighth anniversary Friday inside Lord + Taylor at Mazza Gallerie. The event will honor Gayela Bynum, the founder of the local charity “We Will Survive Cancer,” and Vivien Agbakoba, the founder of Anya by Vivien and female education charity “Felicia’s Fund.” Tickets include entry into the show venue, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, swag bags and a live jazz performance.

Holst’s ‘The Planets’
Head to the Kennedy Center Saturday to listen to the National Symphony Orchestra play “The Planets” by composer Gustav Holst. A wondrous cosmic dance comes to life in this symphony conducted by music director Gemma New. World-renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman will join the National Symphony Orchestra to perform Beethoven’s “Fourth Piano Concerto.”

Sunday
Jazz and Freedom Festival 2020
In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, CapitalBop will host a Jazz and Freedom Festival Sunday at the Eaton DC hotel. All proceeds from the festival will benefit the ICE Out of DC coalition, which supports immigrant rights in the DMV. Featured artists include poet and community advocate Claudia Roja and musicians Cristian Perez, Angel Bethea and Todd Marcus, who will perform a collaboration together.
