The National Parks Service planted a new National Christmas Tree on The Ellipse in President’s Park Saturday morning. The 30-foot tall Colorado blue spruce came from Palmyra, Pa. and is replacing the previous National Christmas Tree, planted in 2012. The previous tree, a Colorado blue spruce from Virginia, suffered damage after a snowstorm in 2014 and an individual climbed on it in December 2018.
