You have one weekend left to exhaust all of your Halloween spirit, so make it worthwhile. Visit one of these bars that have transformed for Halloween or popped up for the holiday throughout the District for your last Hallo-weekend hurrah.
Winter igloos, but make it spooky
If you haven’t been to the Watergate’s winter igloos before, I don’t blame you: The price of renting one of the covered domes starts at $200 before food and beverages. Fortunately, you won’t have to choose between breaking the bank and leaving your D.C. bucket list unfinished because the rental fees are waived for most of the Halloween season.
Get together a group of up to eight of your friends and reserve an igloo, located on the outdoor terrace of the Watergate Hotel’s The Next Whiskey Bar. The igloos are decorated with skeletons and surrounded by fog for the Halloween season. You can reserve an igloo for free this weekend, but expect to pay the usual $200 fee if you arrive on Halloween night.

Costume optional, good times required
The Morris American Bar may not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re thinking about where to grab a drink on Halloween. But the bar has added Halloween cocktails to its menu this month.
Take your pick from the five exclusive drinks the Shaw neighborhood joint has concocted for Halloween shenanigans. All priced at $13, you can choose from the “Corpse Reviver #2,” made with gin, Cointreau, Lillet blanc, lemon and absinthe; the “El Diablo,” made with tequila, lime, ginger, blackberry and soda; the “Cloak and Dagger,” made with black rum, aged rum, lime and sugar; the “Late Night Reviver,” made with gin, fernet, lime and ginger; and the “Zombie,” made with rum, aged rum, lemon, lime, orange juice, passionfruit, curacao, grenadine and bitters.

Relive your childhood, but add alcohol
Hansel and Gretel. Rapunzel. Cinderella. Ring a bell? The Drink Company’s PUB Grimm Halloween pop-up bar is a tribute to the Brothers Grimm stories we were all told as children, but this bar is adding a spooky twist.
Each room is dedicated to a different Brothers Grimm fairy tale. First, experience Hansel and Gretel while braving the Black Forest under a ceiling crowded by creepy crows. Continue to the next room, where the tale of Cinderella dictates the decor. You’ll find yourself living happily ever after until you move to the last room, where Rapunzel is trapped in her tower.
The thoughtful decor is matched with an equally impressive cocktail menu. All of the drinks are sure to impress, but by choosing “The Fairest Apple” ($12), made with whiskey, maple, apple cider, vinegar and bitters, you’ll be served in a cheers-worthy skull glass. Expect a line to get into the bar, but don’t let it scare you away.

Wash down your burger with…Jell-O shots?
Above the cozy Italian restaurant on 14th Street called Little Coco’s is its rooftop bar counterpart, Lucy’s – or, for the next week, Spooky Lucy’s. Walk through the fog and dodge the ghoulish figures hanging from the ceiling to find a place at one of the booths that line the far wall or take a seat at the bar, where creepy masks sit on liquor shelves. From the Halloween menu, choose one of Lucy’s loved burgers and wash it down with a spooky cocktail or special Jell-O shots.
