Black Broke Vegan, an organization that promotes affordable vegan living, and chef Curt Mariah are hosting an “all-ages, family friendly plant power party” at the Emergence Community Arts Collective Saturday. Head over to the festival to sample plant-based delicacies, learn about ways to make your lifestyle more sustainable and enjoy live entertainment. The event is not exclusively for vegans – anyone interested in learning about sustainable eating is welcome to join.

Free Mochi at UNIQLO Union Station
Ring in National Ice Cream Day with free ice cream at Union Station Sunday. My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream is partnering with the clothing store UNIQLO to create an in-store pop-up that provides free mochi throughout the holiday. Nine UNIQLO stores across the country have been chosen to participate in the event, including D.C.’s Union Station location. In addition to free mochi, shoppers can enter to win a year’s supply of My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream and a $500 UNIQLO gift card.
