Five players will join the women’s soccer program this season, head coach Michelle Demko announced Monday.

Three transfers and two incoming freshmen will round out the Colonials’ eight new additions to the 2019-20 roster.

Sophomore midfielder Sammy Neyman and redshirt junior forward Rachel Sorkenn transferred from Miami, where they played under former GW head coach Sarah Barnes. The pair combined for 15 shots, one goal and one assist in 1,228 minutes on the pitch.

Redshirt sophomore midfielder Anyssa Ibrahim transferred from South Florida after tallying one assist and seven shots in 15 games her freshman season. The Montreal, Canada native represented her country at six international tournaments, winning one gold and two silver medals.

Freshmen forwards Isabella Buck and Monique Perrier joined the Colonials in their first collegiate season. Buck earned Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 and earned a First Team All-League Honorable Mention All-State her senior season. Perrier represented her native Jamaica in international play, serving as captain of its U-15 and U-17 teams and playing with the U-20 team at 14 years old.

In addition to the newest recruits, freshmen midfielders Isabelle Eskay and Tori Minda and defender Haley Curtis also signed with the program in November, according to a release.

The squad will return 19 players, including graduate student midfielder and forward Sofia Pavon, who led the team in scoring. The Colonials (10–7–1, 6–4 A-10) finished the 2018 regular season with a winning record and seventh in the A-10, where the squad was booted by VCU.
