The I Street entrance of District House was temporarily closed for an “emergency repair” Friday morning, officials said.

At about 10:50 a.m., officials sent an email to students saying the entrance would be unavailable until “as late as” 4 p.m.

University spokeswoman Maralee Csellar said a hinge broke on the I Street door, and workers decided to remove and replace the door to fix it. She said officials thought “it was best to close that entrance.”

She said the entrance will be back to normal “within minutes.”
