It took senior third baseman Isaiah Pasteur less than one year to make baseball program history.

He set the team’s new record for most consecutive games with a hit Friday in a contest against Fordham.

The first-year Colonial, and Indiana transfer, recorded a base knock during the first inning against the Rams – extending his hitting streak to 25 consecutive games. The leadoff single to left field broke a record set by 2017 graduate Joey Bartosic – who recorded a hit in 24 consecutive games during the 2014-15 season.

Heading into the game, Pasteur owned a team-leading batting average of .360 and tallied 54 hits on the year. He led the team in 14 different statistical categories and earned three saves on the mound. Pasteur’s 17 stolen bases tie him for first on the team, and his nine home runs tie him for first in the Atlantic 10.

His hitting streak started in March in the team’s 12–6 victory against Delaware State, when he connected on one hit and tallied two runs batted in.
