Godfrey’s Comedy Show
If you don’t have a significant other this holiday, keep your mind off of it with a good laugh watching one of today’s most popular comedians. Godfrey, born in Lincoln, Neb. but raised in Chicago, is an American comedian and actor of Nigerian descent. He began his career in 1995 performing at Carolines on Broadway and the Comic Strip Live – two premier comedy clubs in New York City. Godfrey’s diverse expressions, comic assertions and strong energy will make anyone shed tears of laughter. His appearances on Comedy Central, VH1 and featured films leave no question that he is a prominent humorist who will keep you laughing through his set and into the night.

Valentine’s Day Card Workshop
Swap out pricey gifts and surprise a loved one with a handmade card for Valentine’s Day. The Smithsonian National Postal Museum is hosting its annual Valentine’s Day card workshop. It will supply a copious amount of materials such as gems, patterned papers, stickers, colorful markers, special cut-out scissors and plenty more for visitors to use. When your card is complete, you can seal it in an envelope, address it and send it off with a unique National Postal Museum postmark. The workshop will be held in the lower-level atrium of the museum, which features postal transports throughout the ages – from horse-drawn carriages to airplanes.

Chocolate Truffle-Making Classes
The Watergate Hotel has partnered with SPAGnVOLA Chocolatier, a local chocolatier with a storefront in The Shops at 2000 Penn, to provide chocolate truffle-making classes. With cacao picked directly from the Dominican Republic and later roasted and refined in Maryland, students will learn to create handmade truffles. The two-hour class will be run by head chocolatiers from SPAGnVOLA, who will provide information on the growth of cacao and the history of chocolate. In the end, students will receive a box of truffles to share with a special someone or eat while binge-watching Netflix.
