The first day of classes is quickly approaching, and that’s all the more reason to go out and have a good time this weekend. Here are a few Hatchet suggestions for how to spend your last few days of freedom.
Thursday:
Allow comedian Reggie Watts to lighten the mood with his improvised stand-up routine. Watts will be performing at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Woolly Mammoth Theatre. He’ll also be there at 10:00 p.m. Friday. Tickets range from $35 to $55.
Friday:
How do you turn a spelling bee into a Friday night out? I don’t think I need to spell it out for you – alcohol! For those of you who are of age, the Rock N Roll Hotel is hosting the Rock and Roll Spelling Buzz. It’s just like the spelling bees you’re used to, except participants take a drink between rounds. The event is free and starts at 8 p.m.
Saturday:
It’s that time of year again! The Columbia Heights Day Festival offers a day of live entertainment and fun activities for D.C. locals. The festival goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attendance is free.
