Brad Williams

Brad Williams’ comedy show may just be the destressor you need. Williams started in comedy when he was 19 and has since appeared on TV shows like “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and even scored his own special on Showtime. If you have seen him perform before, you know how he can change the mood of a room with his unique humor and wit about relationships, sex and race.

‘Watch on the Rhine’

This weekend at the Lillian Hellman film festival, acting veterans and newcomers star side-by-side in the play “Watch on the Rhine.” Marsha Mason, who won two Golden Globes for best actress in the 1970s and has appeared on television shows like “Fraiser,” “The Good Wife” and “Madam Secretary,” plays protagonist Fanny Farrelly. The Arena Stage will also feature several newcomers making their professional debuts. The play deals with themes like family and love when one of the characters runs away with her husband right before World War II.

Nowruz: Persian New Year Celebration

Ring in the Persian New Year at the Sackler Gallery’s ninth annual Nowruz celebration of the Persian New Year. This free event will include activities like live music, film screenings, art activities and Persian food. Visitors will also be able to explore the Sackler Gallery’s exhibit, Turquoise Mountain: Artists Transforming Afghanistan. The event will take place at the Sackler Gallery and the Ripley Center next door.
