There’s actually a decent amount of buzz around campus this week for Tuesday night’s first round game of the Atlantic 10 Tournament, and in case you hadn’t heard, a lot of people (including this newspaper) want you to come out to the Smith Center for the game. The University is doing its best to put some incentives out there for fans to come out, with a Colonial-Army sponsored tailgate before the game in Anniversary Park with free food (but unlike previous tailgates, no free beer) and an alumni tailgate in the Alumni House (which will, in fact, feature free beer AND wine).
If you were at Saturday’s game against Dayton, you might have also noticed that somebody put together a “Black and Yellow” remix called “Buff and Blue.” Well there’s an accompanying music video here, complete with appearances from the Hippo, Big George and most of the women’s basketball team. The user who uploaded the “Buff and Blue” has a lot of other great videos to get you fired up for the game, including this one of the Carl Elliott tip-in against Charlotte from 2005-2006.
If you’re looking for GW mascots being a little less graceful, you can check out this video here, which we saw via the Washington Post’s Dan Steinberg, of George attempting to throw down with the help of a trampoline at a Washington Wizards game.
