St. Bonaventure allowed to play in A-10 Tournament
The Atlantic 10 presidents voted Tuesday to allow the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team to participate in the conference tournament even though the Bonnies will be ineligible for the NCAA Tournament for the next three years.
The conference will amend its rules so that if the Bonnies (6-18, 2-11 A-10) win the A-10 championship, the runner-up would be awarded the league’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
Last year, after a scandal involving an ineligible transfer student, the Bonnies were banned from the A-10 Tournament and had to forfeit several of their wins, causing a late-season shakeup to the tournament’s seeding.
