The GW water polo team won three of its four matches in league play last weekend in Salem, W.Va., defeating host Salem International, Bucknell and Villanova universities. The Colonials fell 12-5 to Princeton University, the No. 1-ranked team in the Eastern League.
GW’s Mia Fabian was the highlight of the weekend for the Colonials as the freshman scored 16 goals, eight coming in the team’s 17-8 win over Villanova. GW, the league’s second-place team, crushed Salem 13-4 and held on to a 12-10 win over Bucknell.
“We kind of let Bucknell back into the game,” GW coach Scott Reed said. “But, a win’s a win.”
