Schedule changes will allow President Steven Knapp to make an appearance at the kickoff event of Colonial Inauguration 3, despite an original plan to miss the third CI session.

University Spokeswoman Candace Smith confirmed Tuesday evening that Knapp will address students at the opening ceremony for CI 3 on June 25. Knapp also spoke to students at the second freshman orientation program, despite original plans to welcome those members of the freshman class through a video recording.

“His schedule opened up at particular times and he has been able to attend additional [sessions],” Smith said. “His schedule changes depending on who he is meeting with, if something is canceled, if something opens up.”

Knapp’s schedule always had him speaking and attending CI 4 and the transfer and international student CI in August. Knapp was not at Colonial Inauguration 1.

Smith said that Knapp still plans to attend the National Conference on Volunteering and Service, which starts on June 28.
