Alumna and trustee Kerry Washington will deliver a dose of Hollywood glitz Thursday at the Democratic National Convention.
The star of ABC’s drama “Scandal,” Washington will hit the stage in Charlotte, N.C. between 7 and 8 p.m., with fellow actress Scarlett Johansson.
Washington’s remarks will come about two hours before President Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination.
She became a member of the Board of Trustees two years ago, after graduating in 1998. Washington has starred in films like “Ray” and “The Last King of Scotland.”
Actress Eva Longoria also will be among the speakers that include former Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Caroline Kennedy and Vice President Joe Biden.
