The GW Hospital aims to fill its top administrative post by the end of March, according to Jan. 20 article by the Washington Business Journal.
The position was vacated nearly four months ago, when chief executive officer Trent Crable resigned. The change in leadership was announced internally shortly before Cable’s departure Sept. 30, but was not brought to light in the University community until Jan. 6.
Hospital employees were notified by a letter from the outside company that maintains primary ownership of the hospital which called Crable’s decision to resign “mutually agreeable.”
Crable served in an interim role starting in June 2008 before officially taking the helm in January 2009. Chief Operating Officer Kim Russo and Chief Financial Officer Rick Davis share the responsibility of overseeing hospital operations during the ongoing national search for a replacement.
