Yet another set of college rankings were released Thursday, and GW placed 95th on The Times Higher Education list of the best universities in the world.
Sharing its spot with the University of Basel in Switzerland and the University of Arizona, GW fared best in the Times’s teaching and research influence – called citations – categories, receiving a 60.6 percent and 70.2 percent, respectively.
“Four blocks from the White House, the university has been at the heart of the US capital since 1821. Renowned today for politics and international affairs, its main 42-acre Foggy Bottom campus and satellites at Mount Vernon and Ashburn house nine schools and colleges, where 25,000 “colonials” are served by a 2,000-strong faculty,” the magazine said.
GW outranked local universities Georgetown and the University of Maryland at College Park. American did not make the list.
