Rob Maxim will be next year’s executive vice president, the Joint Elections Committee announced Thursday night.
Maxim beat Logan Dobson in a runoff election with 51.9 percent of the vote.
The scene in Columbian Square was much smaller than on the night of the general election announcements. When Maxim’s name was read, several of his supporters yelled and engulfed him in hugs.
“I’m thrilled, I knew it was going to be close,” Maxim said. “I’m looking forward to implementing what students want, working with the senate and really getting them to focus on the issues,”
The final vote tally was 794 to 736.
