Poppabox, an Asian-fusion eatery in Foggy Bottom, announced they were permanently closed Friday.
The eatery opened at the corner of I and 20th streets Northwest in 2014, according to the restaurant’s website, serving fast-casual fare like bento boxes and teppanyaki dishes. The Poppaboxdc Instagram account posted Friday thanking customers for 11 years of support and announced they were permanently closing.
“Thank you to every customer who supported us, believed in us and shared countless moments within our walls,” the post reads. “Your kindness, loyalty and energy made this restaurant what it was.”
The post did not specify their reason for closing.
Poppabox was popular among GW students for its price and convenience — students could use dining dollars to purchase food and order ahead via Grubhub.
A spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.
