Participants at the 2025 D.C. Polar Plunge simultaneously leap into an above-ground pool at Yards Park on Saturday.
Hosted by Special Olympics D.C., the annual event and fundraiser promotes the organization’s educational, community-driven initiatives supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities in the D.C. region. Hundreds gathered at Yards Park to watch the event, where temperatures reached a tempered high of 43 degrees Fahrenheit in the afternoon.
