The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a break-in at the CVS on E Street after suspects allegedly shattered the front glass door and destroyed an ATM machine on Monday morning.
MPD officers responded to a report of an alarm coming from the CVS at 3:51 a.m., according to a public incident report filed Monday. When the officers arrived on scene they found a USAA ATM machine lying on the ground outside of the store’s smashed glass front entrance, the report states.
A witness across the street on the 2100 Block of Virginia Ave. provided MPD with physical descriptions of three suspects and the vehicle they used to escape, according to the report. An MPD spokesperson said the department is searching for a “red-colored vehicle,” which the report states was last seen heading East down the 2100 Block of Virginia Ave.
MPD officers also recovered a stolen Gray Nissan Amada that was left at the scene, the report states.
