District officials will close H Street between 21st and 22nd streets for part of Friday to make way for a University sustainability event.

Officials announced Monday that cars will be unable to drive or park on the street outside Kogan Plaza between 2:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday for Eco-Bash, a zero-waste sustainability event, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event is organized by the GW Undergraduate Sustainability Research Fellows, a cohort of students who conduct a yearlong research project on a sustainability issue on campus, and partnering organizations.

The event aims to educate students on sustainable lifestyles and United Nations sustainable development goals. In April 2023, more than 400 students attended Eco-Bash, which included a rock-climbing wall, petting zoo, vegan food options and a planter-making workshop.
