Rapper Quavo will headline GW’s Spring Fling concert, according to a Program Board post Thursday.
Spring Fling is an annual musical performance put on by the GW Program Board, with past performers including rising indie-pop artist Maude Latour and hip-hop singer Swae Lee. This year’s concert will take place in the Smith Center at 7 p.m. on April 20, with tickets going on sale today at 4 p.m., according to the Program Board post.
The location in the Smith Center is a change, as the event had previously been held in U-Yard every year since 2013, except for 2019 and 2023. The last time Spring Fling was in the Smith Center, in 2019, it was headlined by rapper blackbear to low turnout. In 2023, the initial plan was to hold the concert in Potomac Square, before thunderstorms forced it to move indoors to the Student Center.
Quavo is known for his work in the hip-hop group Migos, in addition to guest verses on pop songs with performers from Drake to Justin Bieber. The Program Board post said the concert will also feature a soon-to-be unannounced opener.
