A Jewish sorority joined the Panhellenic Association as the newest chapter on campus late last month.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi was established at GW as part of the youngest and only independent Jewish sorority in the United States, according to an Instagram post from Panhel earlier this month. The post states that SAEPi will focus on the mantra “Jewish First, Greek Second,” seeking to bridge the gap between Jewish and Greek life communities centered around an inclusive environment for Jewish women.
“The sorority works actively to provide a framework for women to cultivate and experience a Jewish identity, while providing them with the social, educational and professional development opportunities enjoyed by all sorority members,” the post reads.
Representatives of the chapter did not return a request for comment.
