The GW Hospital treated Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, after he suffered a “mild” stroke last Monday, The Associated Press reported.
Bishop, a 69-year-old senior member of Utah’s congressional delegation, was released from the hospital on Wednesday. Bishop said during a KSL NewsRadio interview that his condition was improving but he was experiencing a loss of balance and dizziness.
Bishop will undergo physical therapy and hopes to make a full recovery in a few weeks, Desert News reported. He will retire when his term ends in January.
“He expects to make a full recovery and is back to his witty and dry humored self,” Bishop’s chief of staff Adam Stewart told FOX 13 Salt Lake City.
