On a special episode of “Getting to the Bottom of It,” host Alec Rich explores how GW’s real estate growth has impacted the Foggy Bottom community over time. In interviews with community members and public policy experts, the discussion tackles the responsibility of an urban university to its neighborhood and how GW can expand while minimizing the impact of issues like gentrification.
The years in this map were collected by first determining the square and lot numbers for each property through the D.C. GIS Master Address Repository. Those square and lot numbers were then searched in the D.C. Recorder of Deeds. Only buildings which had recorded deed transfers to GW are displayed on this map.
