Officials are using a text message outreach campaign to share information with students in the lead-up to the fall.
University spokeswoman Crystal Nosal said the Office of Enrollment and the Student Experience partnered with the Division for Student Affairs after the University’s announcement late last month of remote operations for the fall semester to launch Connect GW. She said staff is reaching out to cohorts of sophomores, juniors and seniors to share “relevant” information with students and allow students to communicate with staff members.
Nosal said students whose cell phone numbers officials had on record received text messages. She said staff have responded by phone and email to any questions that students submitted.
She added that the campaign allows administrators to track common questions students ask and adjust public FAQs accordingly.
“Our hope is to continue to use the texting platform to share information about community building programs, student success and other relevant topics for students,” she said in an email.
