Student Association elections have been postponed two weeks following plans to suspend in-person activities and events, according to an email sent to student organizations Wednesday.
SA elections are pushed to April 8 and 9, two weeks later than the original voting dates of March 26 and 27. The announcement comes after the University prepares to table in-person student organization events and move to online courses from after spring break until at least April 5.
The Joint Elections Commission – the body that oversees SA elections – will communicate with students about “next steps,” according to the email.
“The Student Life team is working with the Joint Elections Committee (JEC) to create a plan and process for student body elections for this year, for both in-person and online options as needed,” the email states.
