Crime log: Two students arrested in Amsterdam Hall for assault

A 7-Eleven staff member reported that two unknown men stole one sandwich and two beverages from the store.

– No identifiable subjects.

Public Drunkenness

Guthridge Hall
2/14/2020 – 1:30 a.m.
Closed Case

GW Police Department officers responded to Guthridge Hall for a report of an individual screaming in a residence hall room. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female residents who advised that their guest, who was an alumna, was intoxicated. D.C. Fire and Emergency Services responded to the scene and evaluated the intoxicated female, but she declined any medical assistance.

– Referred to the Division of Student Affairs.

Theft I/Bicycles, Destruction of Property/Vandalism

A female student reported that someone cut her bike lock and stole her bicycle.

A male student reported that an unknown man exposed himself to him while making lewd sexual comments in the men’s restroom.

GWPD officers responded to a report of an injured, intoxicated man unaffiliated with the University who fell and hit his head. D.C. FEMS responded to the scene and brought the man to the GW Hospital emergency room.

– No further action.

Simple Assault (Dating Violence), Destroying/Defacing Structure, Theft II/From Building

GWPD officers responded to a report of a simple assault between a female and a male student who were dating. Both students confirmed that a physical altercation between them resulted in an indent in a wall, a broken picture frame and minor bruises. The female student took the male student’s cell phone and refused to give it back. GWPD officers placed the students under arrest, and Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene and transported the students to the Second District police station for processing.

– Subjects arrested.

Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Weapons Violation

Public Property On Campus (24th and G streets)
2/18/2020 – 5:33 p.m.

GWPD and MPD officers responded to the Shenkman Hall food court for a report of a man with an illegal knife who had left the scene of 24th and G streets. GWPD officers received a tip that the subject moved to Shenkman Hall. When GWPD officers arrived at the food court MPD had detained the subject. GWPD discovered that the subject displayed and swung a knife at a man unaffiliated with GW on 24th and G streets. The man was not injured and didn’t require additional medical assistance. MPD arrested the subject and transported him to the Second District police station for arrest processing. GWPD issued the subject a warning bar notice.

A male student reported that his roommate threatened him after a verbal dispute.
