GW’s top accounting official departed the University last month after a seven-year tenure at GW.
University spokeswoman Crystal Nosal confirmed in an email that Sharon Heinle, the University’s controller, left the University “at the end of 2019.” Heinle now serves as associate vice president and controller at George Mason University, according to her LinkedIn profile and the George Mason directory.
Nosal said Neena Ali, the assistant controller, will serve as the acting controller on an interim basis.
Nosal declined to say why Heinle departed the University. She declined to say if officials have launched a search for Heinle’s replacement.
Heinle did not return multiple requests for comment.
