Hunter Dean, a 6-foot 10-inch forward from Mandeville, LA., will transfer into the men’s basketball program, according to a tweet Friday.
Dean spent the first half of his freshman season at Southern Mississippi, where he averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds. He played exclusively off the bench, averaging 9.7 minutes on the court per game.
As a senior at Lakeshore High School, Dean averaged 18.4 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game.
He is the fourth transfer to join the Colonials (6-7) since head coach Jamion Christian took the helm. Junior forward Ace Stallings, sophomore forward Sloan Seymour and sophomore guard Amir Harris joined the team prior to the 2019-20 season.
Stallings and Harris have seen action on the court this year, averaging 2.2 and 10.5 points, respectively. Seymour will hit the hardwood for the 2020-21 season because of NCAA transfer rules.
