Since dockless vehicles were introduced in September 2017, thousands of additional vehicles have landed on D.C. streets. While sustainability leaders have applauded the District’s efforts to cut carbon emissions through these modes of transportation, they have come with some safety concerns. The Hatchet spoke with several safety and sustainability officials around D.C. to break down how the recent introduction of dockless vehicles has affected the city’s streets and how D.C. plans to continue rolling in more scooters and bicycles.
