A person stole a woman’s purse from her car outside of the Science and Engineering Hall Sunday, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.
The woman reported that she was involved in a car accident outside of SEH at about 11 p.m., according to the report. She reported that she placed her purse – which held her cell phone, wallet, ID, credit card and cash – on her trunk while she exchanged information with the other driver involved in the accident, the report states.
The report states a person ran to the car and took the purse and a witness to the incident followed him in a car. The subject was last seen running on foot southbound on the 600 block of 23rd Street.
MPD officers searched the scene for the subject but could not find him, according to the report.
The case is open.
