Two off-duty Foggy Bottom firefighters assaulted several police officers at an &pizza location on Connecticut Avenue Sunday, a Metropolitan Police Department report states.
At about 3:30 a.m., D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services employees Courtney Barnes and Kimberly Gorham kicked, punched, pushed and scratched three MPD officers responding to a disorderly conduct complaint, according to the report. Officers arrested Barnes, Gorham and Derrick Barley, who is unaffiliated with D.C. FEMS, for assault on a police officer, the report states.
“I’m an EMT that works with y’all, and I hope that y’all take a bullet to the head because I’m not going to revive you,” Barnes told the MPD officers when they arrived at the scene, according to the report.
D.C. FEMS officials have placed both Barnes and Gorham on administrative leave following the incident, DCist reported Wednesday. Barnes and Gorham have been with the agency since 2007 and 2016 respectively, DCist reported.
