Shawn Walker Jr., a senior guard from Virginia Beach, Va., has committed to the men’s basketball program.
Walker announced his decision to join the Colonials’ roster on Twitter Wednesday night. Walker is the first commit to join the program under new head coach Jamion Christian.

The Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School senior earned First Team All-State, First Team All-Conference, All Tournament Team and All Tournament MVP honors after helping the Crusaders to the program’s first Tidewater Conference Championship since 1994 on Feb. 23.
Walker had verbally committed to Siena last year.
“Thankful for the opportunity given by Coach Jamion Christian and his staff to make this possible,” Walker said in the tweet.
Walker joins a roster that will be without three pieces from this season’s squad. Sophomore guard Terry Nolan Jr., freshman guard Shandon Brown and freshman forward Marcus Littles all announced they would transfer since former head coach Maurice Joseph was fired last month.
