Location: Benches between Madison and Duques halls
Readers’ pick: Gelman Library
If you’re looking to spice up your love life or don’t want to take a Tinder date back to your residence hall, GW has some quality locations to try out hooking up in public.
With enough imagination and the right mindset, a lot of spots on campus could suffice. But the alleyway between Madison and Duques halls – which won our pick for best spot to sob last year – can double as a hookup destination because it is so secluded.
While the somewhat decrepit wooden benches won’t be the most comfortable option, it is probably sturdier than your top bunk in Thurston Hall so it will make for a safer hookup.
The alleyway is one of the only hidden public seating spots on campus. The narrow pathway doesn’t have heavy foot traffic, which means the odds you will get caught are low if you make sure to keep noise to a minimum.
Plus, with a nearly 10-foot tall leafy hedge separating you from the first-year residence hall behind this seating areas, you are also safe from any potential judgment or prying eyes.
The next time you struggle to secure some alone time in your room or want to switch up your hookup destination, give the alleyway between Duques and Madison halls a try.
