GW announced around 4:24 a.m. that classes and administrative offices would be closed for “inclement weather.”

The University is closing early Tuesday in anticipation of inclement weather in the District, according to a campus advisory issued at 12:15 p.m.

Classes after 2 p.m. will be canceled, and administrative offices closed at 12:30 p.m. on all of GW’s campuses and locations. Online classes will still be held as scheduled, according to the advisory.

“Students, we ask that you check your email for class updates from your faculty, and faculty are encouraged to work with students to adjust as necessary,” the advisory states.

Rain and snow are expected to hit the D.C. region Tuesday afternoon and evening. About one inch of snow is expected in the District, while two to three inches may accumulate in the Baltimore region, according to the National Weather Service. Dozens of D.C.-area public schools also decided to close early Tuesday ahead of the weather, NBC Washington reported.
