Junior forward Arnaldo Toro will undergo surgery for a hip injury and miss the remainder of the 2018-19 basketball season, according to an athletic department release Friday.
Toro started the first seven games of the year for the Colonials and averaged a team-leading 9.3 rebounds – good for the second-best tally in the Atlantic 10 – and 10.1 points per game. Toro sat out the last two contests against Towson and Princeton.
Toro was dealing with the hip injury in the preseason and played through the injury during the first seven games of the season, according to an athletic department spokesman.
