Metropolitan and GW Police Department officers responded to the Marvin Center Tuesday afternoon after receiving a report of a sexual assault, according to a GW Alert issued at about 4:45 p.m.
At about 4:10 p.m., an individual reported that he was sexually assaulted inside the restroom on the first floor of the Marvin Center. The suspect is a white male with a salt-and-pepper beard who is about 30 to 35 years old. He is wearing a plaid, light-colored shirt and tan khaki pants, according to the alert.
Both GWPD and MPD are on scene canvassing the area for the suspect, the alert states.
The alert advised students and faculty to avoid the area and to call 911 or GWPD’s emergency line if they spot the subject.
University spokeswoman Lindsay Hamilton said she did not have additional information about the incident at this time. MPD spokeswoman Alaina Gertz did not have a record of the incident.
