Residents on the second floor of JBKO Hall were evacuated Sunday night after the University received a report of a “suspicious odor,” officials said.
University spokeswoman Maralee Csellar said an investigation determined that the odor originated from a stove or oven and officials turned off the stove to resolve the issue.
Csellar said the evacuation was out of an “abundance of caution,” and residents were allowed to return to the floor in less than an hour.
Facilities returned to the floor Monday morning to fix the issue, she said.
