The University is “monitoring” a Category 4 hurricane headed toward the east coast this week, according to an email sent to students Monday.

As Hurricane Florence travels towards the coast, the D.C. area may experience “sustained winds and heavy rain,” the email states.

The University will update the Campus Advisories website with information about hurricane-related preparations, precautions and possible changes to facility access, according to the email.

GW will also update students about building closures through GW Alerts, social media pages and various telephone information lines, the email states.
