A 6-foot-9-inch forward announced his commitment to men’s basketball Wednesday, becoming the program’s first commit for the Class of 2023.

Chase Paar – a senior at Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, Md. – announced his intention to arrive in Foggy Bottom for the 2019-20 season on Twitter.

“I would like to thank my family for supporting me in everything I do and always being behind me 100%,” Paar said. “With that being said I’m excited to announce my commitment to George Washington University.”

Paar joins a Colonials team with five other rostered forwards. If all eligible players return to GW next year, the team will have one additional open scholarship.

The Colonials officially open their season Nov. 6 at home against Stony Brook.
