More than a dozen cigarette cartons – worth nearly $1,500 – were stolen from an on-campus grocery store Saturday morning, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.
At about 10:15 a.m., a FoBoGro employee noticed that a second-floor window in the store had been smashed. He called another worker – who arrived about 15 minutes later – and the two discovered that a rock had been used to smash the window, which overlooks an alley, the report states.
An unknown suspect stole 19 cartons of cigarettes – including brands like Marlboro, Camel and American Spirit – totaling $1,496.09. The suspect fled the scene through the second-floor rear door, according to the report.
The case remains open.
