GW Police Department officers arrested a man Thursday for simple assault after an argument on campus, according to a police report.
A witness reported to GWPD that she saw a man and a woman arguing in the Smith Center at about 9 p.m. She saw the man, identified as 28-year-old Rahsaan Wood, grab the woman’s left arm and pull her hair during the argument, according to the report.
The witness said she told Wood to calm down. He then released the woman and “walked away angry,” the report states.
The witness notified the event’s security team of the incident, and GWPD officers later arrested Wood for simple assault, citing domestic violence, according to the report.
Metropolitan Police Department officers then transported Wood to the Second District Station for processing.

The Hatchet incorrectly reported that MPD officers arrested Wood. GWPD officers arrested him. We regret this error.
