The president of France will host a town hall on campus next week to discuss major issues impacting both the United States and France, according to an email sent to students Wednesday.
Emmanuel Macron will hold the town hall at the Smith Center next Wednesday at 3 p.m. as part of his inaugural visit to the United States. Macron will be the first foreign leader to make an official U.S. state visit under the Trump administration next week.
Tickets for the town hall will be distributed to students through a lottery system as officials anticipate high interest in the event. More information about the event will be released over the next several days, according to the email.
The Elliott School of International Affairs will also host a series of French-themed events leading up to the town hall to commemorate the event, like a discussion about the French reconstruction period and an exhibition of French law books, according to an Elliott School email Wednesday.
