Panera Bread will open in the Marvin Center in March, 10 months after the location was first announced, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The cafe will open in the newly-renovated first floor of the student center, in the area formerly occupied by the J Street dining hall. The rest of the space, which will feature a student seating area and a glassed-in presentation room, is set to open by January.
“Panera Bread is excited to open our newest bakery-cafĂ© in Washington, D.C. in early March,” Janet Reinhardt, a vice president at Sloan & Company, the media representative for Panera Bread, said in an email.
Officials said last week that an opening date for Panera Bread would be released later this semester, though officials first said an opening date would be announced last summer.
