Teashi, an Asian-style restaurant, opened in Shenkman Hall Monday, according to a tweet from GW Dining.
The restaurant, which is located in the residence hall’s basement food court, will offer rice bowls, teppanyaki, noodle soup and bubble tea.
Teashi will also offer a fixed-price menu and participate in the University’s meal deal initiative in which students can purchase discounted meal combinations from GW Dining vendors.
Plans to open the restaurant, and a Panera Bread in the Marvin Center, were first announced in May.
Officials said opening dates for the vendors would be announced over the summer, but by the start of the academic year, neither restaurant had an opening date.
Lin Yuan, Teashi’s assistant manager, said in an August interview that the dining partner would be opening “very soon, sooner than expected.”
An opening date for Panera Bread has not yet been announced.
