A man threatened to shoot a city police officer and a GW community member in a profanity-laced tirade in Shenkman Hall’s basement last week, according to police.
Sahid Sesay, 29, was charged with threats to kidnap or injure a person and attempted threats to do bodily harm, according to court documents. Sesay pleaded not guilty to all charges and is scheduled to appear in D.C. Superior Court on Oct. 3.
At about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 18, the Metropolitan Police Department received a report from Shenkman Hall that an individual was going to retrieve a gun. Before officers arrived, they were told that the man had returned to the scene, according to an MPD report.
When an officer arrived, a man told police that he was eating his lunch when Sesay looked at him and allegedly said, “What the f— are you looking at?”
The man told Sesay that he was at work, to which Sesay allegedly responded, “I’ll punch you in the face, and I will shoot your a–,” according to the report. The man who was threatened was a “GW community member,” University spokeswoman Maralee Csellar confirmed.
When the officer approached Sesay, he refused to stand up, the report states. Another MPD officer responded to the scene, and after Sesay was put in handcuffs, he threatened to shoot the original officer, according to the report.
Sesay was then brought to the Second District station for processing.
